Search & Apply

Application Process

How do I apply?

Search for the job vacancy in which you are interested and then apply online by clicking the 'apply' link on the role profile.

What do I need in order to submit an application?

You will be asked for your basic contact information - name, email, postal address and telephone numbers - and an electronic copy of your CV (in a format such as Microsoft Word).

What can I do if I cannot find a vacancy that I'm interested in?

Please create an alert so that when a suitable vacancy is added you will receive an email notification.

Do you accept speculative applications?

We currently only accept applications for open vacancies that are advertised on this website. If you cannot find a vacancy in which you are interested please create an alert so that when a suitable vacancy is added you will receive an email notification.

What is the closing date for applications?

If there is a specific closing date for applications this will be stated on the role advertisement.

What happens if I do not have an e-mail address?

You can obtain free email addresses from many webmail providers such as Microsoft, Google and Yahoo! However, we are also able to correspond with you by post if necessary.

Is there a limit to the number of jobs I can apply for?

There is no official limit, but we would suggest that you limit the number of applications to three at the most, and ensure that you submit your applications for the most relevant roles first.

How long will I need to make an application?

To enter and submit your application would normally take around 10 minutes, although this will vary because of some of the specific questions asked in relation to each role.

I have entered answers to the initial questions but the site does not allow me to start my application. What do I need to do?

If you are unable to start an application it indicates that you do not meet the minimum criteria for this role.

What can I do to report a fault with this site?

Please e-mail us at careers@camelotgroup.co.uk specifying the following details:

  • A description of the fault
  • The date and time the fault occurred
  • Which browser you are using (eg. Internet Explorer, FireFox)
  • The operating system of your computer (eg. Windows XP/Vista, Mac OSX)
  • If possible, please also provide a screenshot of the issue

What happens if I forget my username and password?

Click the link 'forgotten password?' and then enter the same email address that you supplied when first applying. Your details will be sent directly to you at that email address.

What happens if I set up an alert and have not received anything?

When you create an alert you will receive an email asking you to confirm that you wish to receive further notifications. If you have done this and are not receiving alerts, this is either because no new vacancies matching your criteria have been added or because you may need to refine your criteria.

How long will I have to wait before hearing about my application?

This will vary depending on each vacancy but we will send you an email acknowledging receipt of your application.

If I am unsuccessful, will you keep my details for any future opportunities?

Yes, it is our practice to keep details of your application for 12 months in case a suitable vacancy arises. If you would prefer not to allow this, please notify us by email at careers@camelotgroup.co.uk

What reference checks do you make?

Camelot has a responsibility to protect its business, employees and customers. As a result, all candidates who are offered employment will be requested to undergo a number of verification checks. These checks will vary in relation to the post applied for, but will include references from two satisfactory sources, including current/previous employment.

As a regulated company monitored by the National Lottery Commission, it is a National Lottery Licence commitment that certain roles within the organisation are subject to National Lottery Commission Vetting.

In addition to references, we follow a standard vetting process to check various information regarding your background, including:

  • Voters roll checks
  • Proof of identity - you will be asked to bring your original birth certificate, passport and driving licence on your first day at Camelot. For security vetting purposes, copies will be made and authorised
  • Pre-employment medical questionnaire.

What can I do to check the progress of my application?

You will receive emails updating you on the progress of your application. Response times may vary depending on the volume of applications received.

If my application is unsuccessful will I be given feedback?

Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications that we receive it is not possible to provide feedback on an individual basis.

How are applications assessed?

Appropriate selection methods are used according to the skills and knowledge required for each role. Assessment may comprise of a series of interviews or might involve an assessment centre event. Each interview normally takes between 60-90 minutes and will involve different representatives from around our business.

Assessment centres may take place over hours or days depending on the requirements for the role. Typically, assessment centres will include interviews, psychometric assessment, group exercises and presentations. Further information will be provided to you should you be invited to an assessment centre.

Will I be paid travel expenses if I am invited for an interview?

We would expect you to make your own travel arrangements, unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Recruitment Agencies

Camelot has a dedicated in-house recruitment team and the majority of our recruitment is handled by this team. Should we have a requirement to use recruitment agencies, we have a preferred supplier list and do not operate outside of this list.

We request that agencies outside of the preferred supplier list refrain from making speculative communications.
